Getting ttwebtop to work on Ubuntu
Posted by tread on April 28, 2008
I use tarantella at work, but ttwebtop doesn’t work by default in Ubuntu. After starting up, it isn’t possible to type at all in the text boxes. To fix that, you need to add the following to your bashrc (or init script of choice)
export XKEYSYMDB=/usr/share/X11/XKeysymDB
That should work.

Lift doors
Posted by tread on April 26, 2008
This happened on one of our trips. We were standing in the hotel lift, and I pressed the button to go to our floor. My wife and I stared at each other for a while, feeling slightly out of sorts – something was wrong, but we couldn’t put our finger on it. Then I realized the lift didn’t have a button to close the door instantly, and it took longer than usual for the door to close. We just didn’t have the patience.
